The Bible - what is it? Where is it? What part of it is vital
to people in the world today?
85 Pages in the Bible answers these questions in a uniquely Biblical way.
It is in part a survey of the Bible and what is says to those of us
living in the world today, and a critical assessment of Christian
institutions that
claim the Bible as the authority for their doctrines and practices. Author
Michael Schroeder employs a method of Bible study, prescribed by the Bible
itself, called "rightly dividing." This approach directs the inquirer to the
truths in the Bible that are absolutely vital to his or her understanding of it, and its promises.
While many books about the Bible support their discourses with Scripture
reference numbers (chapter and verse) to substantiate their
positions--leaving the task of looking up the references to the reader--85
Pages in the Bible takes this to another level, quoting some 1500 verses
in the main body of text, comprising over thirty thousand words of
Scripture. Schroeder's purpose in doing this is to showcase the Scriptures
themselves, rather than his explanation of them. The result is a proper
understanding of the Bible, as directed by the Bible itself, directly from the
Bible itself.
